Why We Run
I worked with Strava to research why people run, producing the largest study of its kind. Our insight was simple: If we can connect athletes to what motivates them, we can help them achieve their personal best.
Senior Strategist, Imprint Projects (2018-2020)
The project’s interactive site is a resource for the global running community with findings from over 25,000 runners around the world. In addition, we partnered with the University of Pennsylvania to produce a white paper exploring how training and coaching runners of all types could be tailored to their emotional and behavioral relationship to the sport.
I led the project strategy and collaborated with a range of researchers, data visualizers, and academic authors to discover patterns in motivation across a mosaic of diverse runners.
